We were so blessed to have Ann as an Appel sister, as she married our brother Scott, and took Appel as her new last name. There are five of us "Appel girls" now: Denise, DeEtta, Susan, Peggy, and Ann. Ann was much loved and appreciated by all of us. We got to enjoy a couple "girls' getaways" over the years, with the most recent one being last summer(June 2011) to Williamsburg, Virginia! We all flew in and met there, stayed in a big,lovely condo, and got to celebrate our mom, Della Appel's 80th birthday together, along with Aunt Leah. We loved being away together, and saw the sights from morning til night. Ann especially wanted to visit Monticello, so we made sure we got that on the agenda, and we all enjoyed a day there and the incredible history and beauty of Jefferson's estate. Ann soaked it all in, listening intently and learning, and snapping pictures as she went. Ann was fun, adventurous, and she blended right in, in her own special way, with all of the fun family functions we had over the years! I loved Ann, and will greatly miss her--and the genuine, sincere zest she had for life. She was so devoted and loved Scott and the boys. It was evident they were her life, and she loved, cared for and made a beautiful home for them. Ann would tackle anything she set out to do, or learn, or make. She was amazing! I know she is reunited with her Mom, and our Dad in heaven. Dad loved Ann so much, and knew she was such a blessing to Scott. We will always miss you Ann, but are so thankful you're in the sweet arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven! DeEtta
